『Split』

「Hachimitsu to Clover II Ending Theme」

Lyrics & Music : Watanabe Kenji
Arrangement : Suneohair
Vocals : Suneohair

If these dull emotions could just
Disappear sooner without a word
It would have been easier

When I gazed at you
I saw myself trembling in your eyes
I opened my mouth as though I had a blank expression

We went on our separate paths
At that crossroad
It pains me so much that
We may never meet again

Gathering emotions which are lacking
Things that were warmed just a while ago have grown cold
I couldn’t believe something like that
Just how long am I going to hold on to the same words?
How long am I going to hold on…

When I continue to gaze at you
The seasons changed in your eyes
My new light which I’ve not known before

We will walk our separate paths
Now, at that crossroad
I can never look back again
My feelings are too overwhelming

You embrace me in the night that is about to disappear
Entangling me with your body which has grown cold
I feel that something is lacking
Just how long have I been holding on to
Lies and sighs to the point of falling apart?

Gathering emotions which are lacking
Things that were warmed just a while ago have grown cold
I couldn’t believe something like this
Just how long am I going to hold on to the same words?
How long am I going to hold on…

This song maybe a tad upbeat compared to the very somber lyrics, but if you listen more closely you can feel the nostalgia and sadness in melody. The ending song reflects the end of the series well. Hope, separation and moving on.

I agree. Despite sounding upbeat, I think the music fits the lyrics perfectly too. There has been many times where the ending was played at just the right time during the last scenario of each episode.

thanks for sharing the english version. i don’t agree at all that the upbeat tune does not match the lyrics. it depends on the song writer’s style… always.

thanks for the translation! this is a great song! do you have the translation for waltz? I searched for it almost everywhere and did not find it :(

No problem. Erm… I’m afraid I don’t have it here yet. If you’d like me to translate it, I could, but I hope you wouldn’t mind waiting for it. I’m currently having my exams at the moment and they won’t finish until the week after. Translation can be a bit of a long task because the lyrics can be rather complicated just like any other songs. I have to make sure they are as accurate as possible, and since I consider myself just somewhat of a beginner in the language, I usually have to submit my drafts to my Japanese friend who checks it for me (And sometimes… He’s slow. Very s-l-o-w. PS. Kyo, if you’re reading this, 殺しないで下さい。 あれは冗談だよ! 冗談! :p). If it’s okay with you, hope you wouldn’t mind waiting. Thanks for visiting! ^___^

EDIT: I just found an English translation in this page. Hope it’s all right with you. Click here.
