To Aru Majutsu no Index just got better…

…because Kanzaki Kaori has a very nice body だぜ!!

I’ve read only the first three volumes of the light novel quite a long while back but being the sloth I am, I put that on hold because I’m not that much of a text person. I sometimes even dread reading English novels, let alone Japanese ones unless it’s for “water temperature testing”, hence why I delve into the first three and not proceed further than that unless I’m genuinely hooked onto the story like Shakugan no Shana for example. Perhaps my laziness and lost of interest were the reasons I didn’t think about placing To Aru Majutsu no Index on my priority watch list.

Now, my interest has been completely revived Anime-wise; the key incentive -> ITOU.SHIZUKA. If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be religiously following To Aru again like some crazed devotee. I must thank Zyl for coining the term for us fellow fans’ obsession :D. I’m the kind of superficial person who can watch a series based on the voice cast alone so no matter how retarded the story turns out later on, I would finish it because listening to seiyuu test their vocal finesse is satisfying enough for me; thus why I sometimes prefer drama CDs, though I still like my visual eye candies every now and then.

It’s been a while since I’ve heard Itou use her cold, badass tone. The closest perhaps was Shana’s Wirhelmina and maybe BLASSREITER’s Amanda. Cold, yes. But not cold and badass. And Kaori is cold + badass + keigo doused in venom sans “de arimasu”…that is, until they get her into a //SPOILER// angel meido hybrid uniform //SPOILER// someday… So far, it’s still a faint thought in her mind. Would have been interesting if Itou used her Ignis voice (from Jingai Makyou) for Kaori. :3

I don’t care whether you have a screwed up past. I don’t care whether you have a screwed up reasoning for every decision and action you take. Keep on doing those poses and you’ll have my eyes glued to the screen anytime!

A vulnerable Kaori is fine too. Strong women with a protective nature is a definite win in my book. We’ll just need to postpone this aspect until later.

Honestly, do I need a better reason to watch this show? Such a brilliantly delivered tirade. Somehow, I feel strangely contented watching her unleash her rage on Touma, even though Touma is on the justified side of the debate. Kind of like how Kallen beat the marbles out of Suzaku last time. Erm… “S”? Maybe I’m an “S”? Oh Mai HUNNY.

Though the Anime has spellbound me into following it on a weekly basis, knowing me if anything, I’m more interested in Shizu-sama’s likely guest appearance on Index Radio. Wish Itou would show up in more radio shows nowadays. Am lamenting that Yabou Jinja has ended nearly two months ago, which means no Nabatame Hitomi × Itou Shizuka yuri yuri talk for a while. So in the meantime, I’ll just have to make do with

(Good Job to the both of them for giving Tanaka Rie a nice, hawt welcome on Minato Station last Friday d(￣▽￣). LOL @ Shizu-sama for ogling at Rie-tan with predatory eyes. And LOL @ the staff for taking precautionary measures in seating Shizu-sama away from Rie-tan to prevent her from sexually harassing Rie-tan; not that she hasn’t done it already ;). Reminded me of the time when Watanabe Akeno was deliberately seated next to Fujimura Ayumi instead of Shizu-sama in AsaRaji to avoid having her boobs groped. Unfortunately for Akenon, Fujimura asked out of the blue whether she is entitled to have the same duty of molesting Akenon, followed by Meister Shizu-sama’s approval and claim that Ayumi-chan also belongs to Ken Pro – the seiyuu agency with the yuri sekuhara DNA thriving among their female members like Kanai Mika and Nabatame Hitomi. LOLZWUT @ Akenon’s remark that she would pin the assault charges on Ken Pro if she gets molested)

Too bad Shizu-sama and her pet’s radio is available only to mobile phone users. Darn… And someone needs to suggest a proper full series with Shizu-sama and her drink session partner-in-crime, because we know their flirting and drunken escapades aren’t the only things they’d like to share. And while we’re on the topic of Mrs. Nabatame, just when we thought there hasn’t been any current news involving her and Naba-sama, it seems they did a dress fitting together last week for MikoRaji Volume 9 (Yabou Jinja’s CD), and lo, they had to wear wedding dresses for the subtitle’s theme (ﾟ▽ﾟ). Shizu-sama looked gorgeous in a wedding dress; well, if only she hadn’t filtered the photo in her blog, which is understandable in the case that the whole commercial planning is supposed to be confidential until the product’s launch. Wonder if she’s wearing a tuxedo underneath; as a follow-up to her idea proposal during her gag wedding with Koshimizu Ami last time. ;)

Perverts with teleportation powers are undeniably fearsome. Besides the fact that Kuroko is a dirty old man at heart, harbors a one-sided uber yuri crush on Mikoto and is a super possessive freak, the second significant reason that resurrected me as a devout follower -> Arai Satomi. I admit I wasn’t really a fan of her voice works as much as say, Itou Shizuka’s. Her acting didn’t grab me the first time I heard her as Kaname Sakura in Soukyuu no Fafner, but it wasn’t until I started watching Mahoraba and listening to Ai no Mahoraba Gekijou did I become a huge fan of hers; simply because she’s an oddball who seems to snivel and drool a lot, and has the tendency to blurt out some of the most…random things…

So yes, it’s more of Satomin’s real life personality which turned me into a fan and made me pay closer attention to her voice roles – doesn’t make a plausible reason for being a fan of a seiyuu, I suppose. For the time being, I’m not sure if loli-esque Kuroko is a suitable role for her as her unique natural voice is what she and the others describe as sounding like an “obaachan”, and this trait is reflected in most of the characters she has voiced, regardless of their age. Then again, being allotted the role of Kuroko would likely give Satomin the chance to act as her usual eccentric self, which makes it all the more appealing considering how crazy and over the top Kuroko can get sometimes (assuming the Anime would showcase this side of hers). Also the fact that Arai may appear as another guest on Index Radio, an event which I’m really looking forward to. Come to think of it, having Itou Shizuka and Arai Satomi simultaneously on the same radio episode may spell CHAOS for Iguchi and Satou lol.

Despite the little time I have now for watching any series, To Aru Majutsu no Index is one of the few I’ll be regularly following in the weeks to come. Aside from the voice cast, J.C Staff’s animation standard has certainly improved for this project. Since I’m a shallow amateur when it comes to quality anyway, I’ll just make do with those two offers and hang on until the end. :)
