Ritsu unquestionably has the most ambiguous personality among the four girls. Can’t tell what she justifies as serious business sometimes. ^^;
THANK YOU KYOANI!!!! Even if it’s only for a short while, am very glad they decided to animate the band’s live this time, and the use of a newly composed song instead of recycling “FUWA☆FUWA Time” is truly delicious icing on the cake. Without a doubt, the best moment of the episode for me. :)

The club has a new band member in Azusa and Sawako gets a new doll to play with.
All is right with this episode in being lifted to memorable status by their short live and Yes! We get another insert song to look forward to :D! It was a bit of a shame they didn’t include that infamous video ad (courtesy of Sawako, Yui, and the best camerawoman for the job). This omission as well as past downplays of several scenes got me contemplating about Zyl’s comment wrt to two of the primary staff members:
KyoAni certainly upped the yuri potential of Lucky Star but that was directed and composed by Yasuhiro Takemoto and Doko Machida respectively whereas K-ON is handled by Hisako Yamada and Reiko Yoshida.
I can’t help but wonder if Yamada being a female (?) director chose to take a more conservative approach in deciding which scenes to keep for the TV series, therefore making K-ON! look more cute and safe by replacing pantsu with a rice bowl (never mind the metaphor), and Mugi Vision as seen through her eyes being virtually non-existent for example, despite the Manga having the elements which would have appealed to fans. Would it have been different if Takemoto Yasuhiro or Ishihara Tatsuya (advisor for K-ON! TV) took the helm instead? Of course you can argue that my thoughts are rubbish, completely baseless and it has nothing to do with who the directors are. :)

I’ll give props to the 4 girls’ seiyuu in their first ever attempted band performance of “FUWA☆FUWA Time” this week, regardless of the result. It’s definitely not easy for them to squeeze a couple of weeks of band practice in their job’s busy schedules for a difficult song, especially since Satou Satomi (who plays the Electone) and Hikasa Youko (who only knows the triangle lol) started out with 0 experience of playing their character’s musical instruments. Toyosaki Aki and Kotobuki Minako had past experience with the acoustic guitar and piano respectively, if only a little.
Satou got blamed for messing up the drum’s tempo. LOL @ the 3 girls bullying Hiyo to do the vocals like Mio, in particular Satou who was trying to divert the blame elsewhere lulz. Guess Mio’s position isn’t any different IRL. ;)

and of course, best scene. the PERFORMANCE!!! NICE SAVE MIO, that was my absolute favourite scene. Break out of her shyness and step up to the mic!! Totally love “My love is a stapler”, the lyrics are to die for, they’re really so cute. WELL WRITTEN MIO!!!

I’ve always thought Sakurakou looked like a co-ed high school but now that you mentioned it, I don’t see any guys at all, and the hall was filled with girls. o_O

Ah… Her queer yet “that’s-so-Mio” lyrics. I absolutely love them too. She has this sensitive side which makes her both adorable and girly. And perhaps we’ll get the chance to see she can be quite the cute child-at-heart as well. ;)
And yes, awesome scene when Mio overcame her earlier intense protest to sing in order to save the performance. Good boost in confidence for her. :)
I went “awww” at that scene too :3. You can tell she really likes it, just that she doesn’t admit it verbally. New tsundere of the group lol.
Hopefully the 4 seiyuu can get their act together by the end of this week. Amusing that the meanest one among the bunch was Toyosaki (Yui’s VA) lol. She was the first one to blame Satou and then started the call for Hikasa to sing. Kind of feel sorry for Hiyo coz she ended up apologizing even though she didn’t do anything wrong lol.
