The new OP isn’t too bad. I find it rather catchy although I can say this only after listening to it a good number of times. Heard a TV size preview of the song when it was first streamed towards the end of December 2008, so I sort of had ample time to get used to the tune and didn’t find it as weird when they bundled it together with the video sequence last week. Regardless, I still prefer “PSI-missing” over “masterpiece”.
As for the episode → Blah blah blah blah blah.
Index still suffers from conversation problems, or to put it frankly – unwarranted wordy expositions.

As much as I like Kaori, she talks too much during the midst of battle. It would make sense if it was left as mental reasoning but to deliver majority of it as a vocal monologue is just odd… Surely they should have found a neater way of improvising the already lengthy original script instead of churning a long-winded verbal speech while she was fighting? And that’s the point. Fighting should be left as fighting with minimal talking at best. Oh well, I’ll forgive J.C.Staff for compensating us with a well animated first half episode of action AND that Kaori was the one in action.
On the whole, quite an inept episode imho. If there’s anything related to Index which I enjoyed during the past/current week, it’s Shizuka-gozen finally appearing as a guest on Index radio and encouraging Iguchi Yuka and Satou Rina to eat, get drunk drink, and be merry. Oh and the fact that Itou managed to get away with teasing the two and calling their characters –Index & Mikoto– as well as the rest of the cast “okochama” (little kids) right after Satou pointed out her “Iyaaan~♥” sex symbol-ish voice.
Last Order volume, next!

Imagine Breaker can’t help him this time.

I remember seeing the same kind of pen in a public bookstore in France. I was 8 then and yeah, it’s not something any kid should have free access to. ><

Digging ears just looks a lot less crude when Misaka Imouto does it. Would have been fun if it was her nose instead ^^. Oh and I demand that Sasaki Nozomi be given more roles!

A sign that Stiyl should really start chewing on carrot sticks instead of nicotine ones.

This spells WRONG in so many POVs and scenarios. *Eyes start melting*
If this was a loli-esque reincarnation, I totally approve!! Wanna have a guess at the kind of “political” scandals Madam President was involved in? ;)

Now that it comes to mind, there have been a lot of blonde little girls with a mature disposition lately.

Kanzaki Kaori, sexily intimidating as usual. Can’t wait to look at a more glorious side of her in the next episode.

毒舌な敬語 is the new moé (um…maybe I’m the only one who thinks so ^^)
I suppose this takes sarcasm to a different level. I’m always fond of deadpan snarkers but to have them politely deliver their jabs makes it so much more cynical. Though I love the way Kaori indirectly insults Touma, Matsurika still wears the crown for abusive honorific speech.
I’d like to see more guys with siscon who are as cool as Tsuchimikado or Kakihara Tetsuya. ;)
Angel Fall arc. Not exactly an arc I’d bowl over with enthusiasm but Kaori’s return is a good thing in my book. I probably prefer Volume 5’s story slightly more but we’ll see how the Anime staff handles this. After all, it’s more exciting to watch an animation than to plough through loads of text. Sigh… If only they conducted video lessons in school instead of bombarding us with heavy textbooks, but that’s just me. >_>
